IMPORTANT NOTICE – Corona virus (COVID-19)

[Quebec City, March 14, 2020] Our priority is the health and well-being of our employees, customers, suppliers and partners. We are also committed, during this period of turbulence, to providing our clients and partners with adapted legal services that meet the immediate and specific needs arising from this exceptional conjuncture. That is why we have implemented a series of measures intended to manage the situation properly and to promote the values of mutual aid and solidarity that we hold dear.

Our operations and access to judicial services

Our operations continue in line with the recommendations of public health authorities. We have adapted our activities to enable our teams to respond quickly to all your needs and questions.

As of March 13, 2020, the Superior Court of Quebec and the Court of Quebec suspended their regular activities until further notice. We are, of course, closely monitoring the situation. Urgent cases will still be heard by the Court, so that in such circumstances, our lawyers will be able to assist you and obtain immediate court intervention.

GBV Strategic Team - COVID-19

The pandemic brings its share of social, economic and legal challenges. These challenges raise many questions that are often urgent and sometimes new.

It is crucial for us to be able to answer these questions and to support you in managing the legal consequences of the pandemic. To this end, we have created the GBV Strategic Team - COVID-19, made up of lawyers who keep abreast of the evolving socio-legal situation and government directives. This Strategic Team will be able to assist you efficiently and quickly in dealing with these issues.

The email address info@gbvavocats.com will until further notice be reserved for this purpose and we invite you to access it 24 hours a day in order to submit your requests.

Hygiene protocol and deployment of technological means

We have implemented a strict hygiene protocol that we impose on our staff, our customers and everyone who visits our facilities.

We have also put in place technological means that allow all of our staff to work from home or from any other location. In addition to reducing the risks of propagation, this measure will allow parents to be with their children. Until further notice, we are also partially restricting access to our Quebec City and Montreal offices by favouring alternative means of communication.

Mutual aid and solidarity

Above all, we also hope that this volatile context will be marked by mutual aid, solidarity and unwavering support for the most vulnerable in our society, whether they are from here or elsewhere. In keeping with this vision, today we made a humble donation of $25,000 to the Canadian Red Cross, and we invite all our clients and partners to join this collective effort of solidarity and to contribute to it to the best of their ability.

On behalf of the entire team, we wish you and your loved ones health and safety at this time that calls out the best from each and every one of us.

The GBV Team
